چکیده

African lovegrass (Eragrostis curvula) is one of the invasive perennial grasses that continues to disturb natural ecosystems globally. Experiments were conducted in southeast Queensland, Australia, evaluate effects temperature, salt stress, water burial depth, and sorghum crop residue load on emergence efficacy postemergence herbicides two populations (Clifton Crows Nest) E. curvula. The optimal germination temperature regimes for curvula 30/20 35/25 °C, but seeds did not germinate at temperatures commonly occurring Queensland winter (15/5 °C). Total darkness inhibited by 79%, indicating shade cover effect would reduce Clifton population tolerated a higher concentration sodium chloride (160 mM) osmotic potential (−0.8 MPa). Under both was 31% 20% greater than Nest, respectively, suggesting more tolerant drought stress. maximum obtained surface while declined with increased depth up 4 cm. No seedlings emerged from 8 cm depth. addition amounts Mg ha−1 soil compared no-residue treatment, retention heavy cereal will further delay or restrict emergence. Several found be effective controlling an early stage. Information this study compliment earlier studies targeted management populations.

Apomixis frequency under stress conditions in weeping lovegrass (Eragrostis curvula)

To overcome environmental stress, plants develop physiological responses that are triggered by genetic or epigenetic changes, some of which involve DNA methylation. It has been proposed that apomixis, the formation of asexual seeds without meiosis, occurs through the temporal or spatial deregulation of the sexual process mediated by genetic and epigenetic factors influenced by the environment. ...

Seed Germination Ecology of Feather Lovegrass [Eragrostis tenella (L.) Beauv. Ex Roemer & J.A. Schultes]

Feather lovegrass [Eragrostis tenella (L.) Beauv. Ex Roemer & J.A. Schultes] is a C4 grass weed that has the ability to grow in both lowland and upland conditions. Experiments were conducted in the laboratory and screenhouse to evaluate the effect of environmental factors on germination, emergence, and growth of this weed species. Germination in the light/dark regime was higher at alternating d...

De novo transcriptome sequencing and assembly from apomictic and sexual Eragrostis curvula genotypes

A long-standing goal in plant breeding has been the ability to confer apomixis to agriculturally relevant species, which would require a deeper comprehension of the molecular basis of apomictic regulatory mechanisms. Eragrostis curvula (Schrad.) Nees is a perennial grass that includes both sexual and apomictic cytotypes. The availability of a reference transcriptome for this species would const...

Increased apomixis expression concurrent with genetic and epigenetic variation in a newly synthesized Eragrostis curvula polyploid

Eragrostis curvula includes biotypes reproducing through obligate and facultative apomixis or, rarely, full sexuality. We previously generated a "tetraploid-dihaploid-tetraploid" series of plants consisting of a tetraploid apomictic plant (T), a sexual dihaploid plant (D) and a tetraploid artificial colchiploid (C). Initially, plant C was nearly 100% sexual. However, its capacity to form non-re...
